Breeding values for mares

Below please find the breeding evaluations on Danish Warmblood mares. The values are calculated on performances and exterior evaluations on the offspring, parents, siblings as well as the breedsires themselves.

The silver medal mare Coco Chanell S by Cassini I/Caletto I tops the mares' Young Horse jumping BV's.

In the dressage- and jumping breeding values the mares are ranged by total breeding evaluation (total BE). A BE is only calculated if the mares have been judged under saddle at least once or if at least one 1 offspring counts has participated in the saddle gradings or other riding tests, Young Horse Championships, or at lieast 5 times in competitions, or she herself has been competing and has been judged in the above mentioned.

The total breeding value of a trait like e.g. dressage is a weighted average of the breeding values from the young horse BV, championships and competitions on the differring number of judged offspring in the respective breeding values.

Previously the security margin has figured on the list for each breedsire or mare. Now this has been replaced by the number of judged offspring forming the basis of that breeding value. The higher number of judged progeny, the more safe would the breeding value be. If you want to know the security margin, we kindly refer to the individual breedsire or mare on the Danish horse database "Hestedata". Access to that database requires a login.

Many mares, mostly the younger ones, only have a young horse BV as long as there are not enough judged progeny in the championships and/or competitions.
