Danish Warmblood mare Australian Grand Prix champion23-10-2019 - 11:16

The former Danish Olympic rider and now Australian citizen, Lone Jørgensen has become Australian Champion with her DWB bronze medal mare, Corinna, at the 2019 Australian Dressage Championships held in Sydney on October 16-20

Maybe it was not the obvious future plan for the young Danish Warmblood mare Corinna that she would be Australian Grand Prix champion, since at her DWB saddle grading she scored very high scores in freejumping, like for instance impressive 9,5 for capacity. She also got 7 and 8 for her rideability, 9 for freejumping technique as well as 9 and 8,5 for her impressive canter.

She is by Crelido out of the elite- and bronze medal mare Larinna by Loran, and she is bred by Gitte Søgaard and Povl Hove, Denmark. The mare line has produced numerous medal mares, elite mares, advanced-level competition horses and a breeding stallion.

Lone Jørgensen has competed on interantional Grand Prix level for several years and has represented Denmark at many big championships like the Olympic Games. She and her husband Ulli Eggers have immigrated to Australia and Lone got her Australian citizenship just 4 weeks prior to the championships, in due time to let her compete. Lone and Corinna won the Australian Dressage Championships with a total score of 69,348% in CDI Grand Prix and 73,915% in the CDI-W Freestyle.

Lone Jørgensen tells that Corinna has given her quite a changeover, since she had always ridden "hot" horses, but Corinna has such a calm and well-balanced mind and does not spook. She thinks that there is good potential that they can achieve higher percentages in future, since the mare is still new and learning and only has competed in 5 Grand Prix's before this CDI.
