The DWB Young Horse Championships in dressage and jumping

Each year during September and October seven regional ability tests with specialized 4-year-old Danish Warmblood jumpers and dressage horses are held all over Denmark.

Apart from providing valuable data for the DWB breeding evaluation system, these ability tests are qualifiers for the DWB Young Horse Champinships that are held parallell with the National Stallion Show in Herning.

The 35 best dressage horses from these tests are qualified for the Blue Hors Young Horse Championships and the 25 best jumpers are qualified for the Schou & Skouboe Young Horse Championships, both events held in Herning as a part of the National Stallion Show.

There, as 5-year-olds, the competition is tense and much is on stake - many new stars are found - and each year offers a drama between the top horses. For instance, back in 2009, where UNO Donna Unique beat Hønnerups Driver, whereafter the gelding won in Verden, with the legendary gold medal mare as runner-up - then in 2010, she stroke back and sensationally won the class of 6-year-olds at the WBCYH in Verden.
