Dansk Varmblod's elite stallions

Once a year the breeding commission receives applications for breedsires' status as elite stallions. The stallion owner must apply at the latest before October 1st.

The breeding commission will go through applications for stallions' elite status each year in the beginning of October. Please contact spokesman of the DWB breeding committee Mr. Poul Graugaard on for further information, if you have a stallion that has had a number of DWB offspring with very good results in the breed and in the top sport.

At least 4 out of the 6 below items must be fulfilled to obtain elite status:

1. The stallion has shown good and solid own performances in the sport and has had at least 3 clear rounds on at least 1,25 level in jumping and at least 3x60 % in M-level dressage.
2. At least 30 offspring has been put for a judge and evaluated at mare gradings or pre-selections. At least 50% of the judged mares should be in the main studbook or pre-selected to the stallion selection.
3. The stallion has several progeny who have performed extraordinaryly well in sport or by DWB testings.
4. The stallion has a breeding evaluation clearly above average in either dressage or jumping.
5. The stallion has at least 5 offspring qualified for the finals of the Danish Young Horse Championships in dressage or jumping.
6. The stallion has several offspring in the sport at high level, being jumping: at least 3 clear rounds above 135 at at least national level, and dressage level at least 3x60 % in classes equivalent to MA in Demark.

In certain cases exemption can be granted.

If sufficient documentation is not enclosed the application, the appplication will be returned and not discussed. There is no fee for applying.
